Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticized Petco for alleged poor treatment of birds. The actor, known for her fondness for parrots, accused the retailer of getting birds from breeders who kept them in tight and unclean spaces. Dench called for an end to the sale of birds at Petco, citing PETA's exposure of breeding factory horrors. The criticism comes as Dench has been vocal about her admiration for parrots and the ethical treatment of animals.
