Latest News About Revised pay deal deemed insufficient by AEU

The Australian Education Union (AEU) Victorian Branch put a new pay and conditions offer to the rank-and-file on Friday. The first state government proposal of 28.3% was increased to push teachers to accept. The offer spans 2024 to 2027 and includes broader leave provisions. Union left faction leaders characterised the deal as insufficient. They labelled it a 'stop-gap' and urged members to vote against. Further union action remains planned despite the increased offer. The AEU will ballot 33,000 public school teachers early next month. The authorities aimed to prevent strikes with the revised offer.
